Continuing to create bespoke designs, such as the award-winning 24m and the 2012 launched NISI 2400GT yacht, the well known Setzer Yacht Architects studio is once again developing a futuristic luxury design for NISI Yachts – the new HOOKAH yacht series. This time the concept is larger, measuring 33-35 metres.
As the flagship of a superyacht series nicknamed “Hookah,” the design will diverge from conventional motoryacht categories to combine the best elements of modern tri-deck and raised pilothouse styling into a streamlined profile incorporating a plumb bow, an elevated forward deck, and a clean sheer running almost directly parallel to the waterline.
Maximisation of outdoor entertainment areas is one of the primary design objectives for the new HOOKAH superyacht project, with oversized dining and lounge areas being incorporated both forward and aft, as well as on the flybridge. As seen in the earlier NISI 2400 and 2400GT models, emphasis is being placed on providing unobstructed ocean views from as many vantage points on the yacht as possible. “We want to bring in as much natural light and visual experience of the ocean as possible,” said President Ward Setzer. “As in our previous builds with NISI, maintaining a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces has been a top priority.”
Performance modelling is currently underway using Twin MTU 12V-4000s and ZF Pod Drives, with preliminary projections putting top speeds at around 22 knots.
