The EP148′ motor yacht is currently in build at the Horizon Shipyard in Taiwan and is expected to be launched later this year. The EP148 motor yacht measures 148ft in length and features a steel hull and composite superstructure that complement each other in both in design and functionality. The exterior design and Naval Architecture have been done by Horizon Yachts and signal Horizon’s entry into the world megayacht market.
The EP148′ yacht was designed as a long range cruising yacht. She boasts whisper quiet operation and the most advanced technologies were incorporated into the build. The long range explorer EP 148 is able to accommodate up to 10 guests in an on deck Master stateroom with panoramic views of the surroundings and four guest cabins, each with ensuite facilities. As many as ten crew members can also be accommodated. There is a spa pool for up to ten guests located on the aft sun deck surrounded by sunpads keeping a circular profile.
Built on a 29 foot beam, the EP 148 offers a spacious interior and the yacht is able to be fully customised by potential owners. Special features are tender and personal water craft storage on the bow and tender storage in a special hidden garage aft of the engine room.
Yacht EP 148 by Horizon will be powered by twin MTU diesels engines enabling her to reach a maximum speed in the region of 16 knots. Just over 60,000 LT of fuel is able to be carried on board. She weighs under 500 tonnes, has a beam of 8.83-meters and a draft of 2.53-meters. The vessel is constructed in accordance with the requirements of MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency) LY2 (2008) standard and BV (Bureau Veritas) Classification Society Rules for the Classification and Certificate of Yacht (NR500 DT ROOE, July 2006).
The Horizon EP 148 motor yacht combines style, stability, safely and the ultimate in luxury into a BV Ice Classification design. The EP 148 is expected to be launched in 2011.
