Taiwanese yacht builder Horizon is to open new sales and marketing offices in Spain in an effort to support, maintain and expand its position in the European market. Horizon is one of Asia’s largest yacht builders and the only Far Eastern member of SYBAss.

Drettmann previously handled all the sales of Horizon yachts in Europe marketing them under a series of brands including Elegance, Bandido and Premier. Horizon’s new strategy is to focus on one brand – Horizon. The company plans to complete all outstanding orders arranged through Drettmann and intends to work closely with the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss) by exchanging information and expertise with other members.
Horizon Yacht Europe will be based in Mallorca, Spain, managed by Ron Boogaard. Ron Boogaard, the director of the European Horizon brand brings 23 years of experience in the marine industry to the role.
The first public outing for Horizon Europe brand will be at the Boot Dusseldorf 2011.
Horizon has also begun plans to expand its range with new motor yacht models between 54ft and 110ft over the next two years and to focus on developing green yacht concepts including solar energy and other environmental friendly technology.
