The Chinese based shipyard IAG Yachts have sold their first two production model superyachts, the 127 foot motor yacht PRIMA DONNA, to a buyer in Florida and the 100 foot yacht Electra to a buyer in China. Thee recent sales follows on from some successful shows in Miami, Shanghai and Hong Kong, on what’s been quite a spectacular year for IAG Yachts.
A celebratory event was held at IAG Group’s country club in Southern China to mark the special occasion attended by media, guests and friends of the group on Saturday 28th May.
“I am extremely happy that we have sold not just one, but both our models to different buyers across two different regions of the world,” said Tim Chang, Director of IAG Yachts.
The sales of the 127’ superyacht PRIMA DONNA and 100’ motor yacht Electra mark a promising start to the shipyard that completed the Primadonna last autumn and are due to complete the Electra by September of this year.
“We always felt that shipping the Primadonna to the US was the right decision and to debut her to the world at the Miami show had definitely made quite an impact,” said Andrew Chang, Head of Marketing. “The sale of the Primadonna in Florida is just testament to this and we’re all thrilled to have sold her.”
The sale of the motor yacht Electra was the outcome of two consecutive shows in Shanghai and Hong Kong where Chinese buyers are making headlines for indulging in the purchases of yachts.
“We’re continuing to hear big news that many Chinese buyers are purchasing yachts almost impulsively at shows within the Greater China Region” said Chang. “It’s been forecasted that China’s yachting culture is maturing and recent success at shows particularly within the region demonstrates this.”
The spacious Rina classed Primadonna built for charter, boasts 6 en-suite staterooms sleeping up to 12 guests with the voluminous owner’s stateroom featuring groundbreaking headroom, a large main salon with dining area, a full beam sky lounge and a very open sun deck that features a large Spa Pool and bar area.
