At 5:00 pm on Tuesday night of this year’s International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), the Composites Pavilion will play a host to a bout that will pit vendor against vendor for the title of best marine-themed cocktail. All registered attendees are invited to sample and vote for their favorite concoction at this fun networking event, sponsored by Composites One as well as Magnum Venus Plastech (MVP).
Each team of composite professionals will mix a signature drink that captures the spirit of the composites industry. Party-goers will be able to mingle with other marine professionals, sample innovative drinks, and then vote for their favorite one. To attend the event, registered attendees must visit the Composites Pavilion on Tuesday and receive a wrist bracelet from a composites exhibitor. Only attendees wearing the CCC green bracelet will be able to sample and vote for the variety of cocktails.
Organizers state that the event is intended to be a fun way to network with others in the industry and bring focus to the work of the composites industry. “Composites One is pleased to sponsor an event that brings excitement and awareness to the Composites Pavilion at IBEX 2013,” explained Marcy Offner, Marketing Manager of Composites One. “Composite materials are at the forefront of boat-building and Composites One is pleased to highlight the many suppliers of these exciting materials at IBEX this year. Our signature drink, the ‘Composites-tini,’ is a tribute to the many fine marine manufacturers in attendance.”

Three prizes will be awarded for the best cocktails.
Jeff Austad, VP of Sales and Distribution for MVP in North America weighed in on his signature drink, which will use the company’s meter and mix machine to ensure correct alcohol to mixer ratios. “Our drink should win because we are the only vendor that will be able to showcase our Meter/Mix product capability as well as serve up a tasty libation,” he joked.
