Amsterdam RAI, in collaboration with the ICOMIA Marinas Group as well as Turkish Marine Industry Association DENTUR, has unveiled the event programme for the 2014 ICOMIA World Marinas Conference, set to take place in Turkey‘s Istanbul from June 2 to 4. Experts from all over the world will sit on panels and lead breakout sessions, covering the global marina industry and emerging markets. The resulting exchange of knowledge and best practice will have long-lasting value to all who participate in the conference, the theme of which is ‘Marinas into the Future’.

Sharing know-how
Leading lights representing top marina organisations from every part of the world and over forty top speakers will gather in Istanbul at the start of June to share knowledge and information with an equally diverse group of international delegates. Primary areas of focus will be on new opportunities in emerging markets, different approaches to marina management, and the diversity of regulations and legislation related to marinas and boating.

Setting the standard
The first three speakers at the plenary session of the event set the standard for the high level conversations to come. The opening address will be given by Alpaslan Sirkecioglu, chairman of the Turkish Marine Industry Association, DENTUR, which is also the conference host. This will be followed by a keynote speech by ICOMIA president Peter Methven OBE and the Turkish authority speech by Suat Hayri Aka, Deputy Undersecretary at Turkey’s Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications.
