During the opening address, Irene Dros, Maritime Domain Manager Amsterdam RAI, revealed further details of the 2014 ICOMIA World Marinas Conference (WMC), which promises to be an exceptional learning experience for professionals in the marina and nautical tourism field and will provide the opportunity to gather a truly global audience of professionals coming together to exchange experience and knowledge, and to learn from each other’s best practice.
Next to the stage was Alpaslan Sirkecioğlu, Chairman of DENTUR, proclaiming how delighted the association is to be hosting the Conference in Turkey: “We are proud to host this truly global event in Istanbul – the only city where the two continents meet – founded in 660 BC and capital to the four biggest empires in the history. ICOMIA WMC 2014 will investigate topics such as the state of global marina industry, the emerging markets of the Eastern Med, Black Sea, Middle East, Asia and South America – whilst breakout sessions will provide delegates the opportunity to learn about and discuss marina management and operational practices, revenue maximization ideas, benefits of marina classification, facility/marina design and engineering”.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with ICOMIA Marinas Group Chairman, Roberto Peroccio announcing that registration was now open, followed by an astonishing pyrotechnic display marking the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference 2014 officially launched.
