Index Marine Ltd, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of marine electrical installation equipment presents its new Side Entry (SE) cable gland at this year’s METS, ahead of their release to the market, expected in early 2012.

Offering the best possible watertight solution for cable entry, the SE gland is the perfect solution for vessels with limited space, or when loops from a conventional top entry gland are not appropriate. Made from tough UV stable glass reinforced Nylon, the SE gland is ideal for cable transits through the deck, coach roof or bulkhead for items including solar panels, side mount navigation lights, VHF or other cables with a size range of 2 to 12mm in diameter.
Available in two sizes, the SE1 is suitable for cable sizes 2mm to 8mm and the larger SE5 can fit cable diameters of 7mm to 9mm or 10mm to 12mm. Easy to fit, the SE glands come equipped with all the necessary fixing and full fitting instructions.
This extension to Index Marine Ltd.’s product line complements its popular deck gland range, available in UV stable nylon, marine grade anodised aluminium and a polished stainless steel range. Offered in a range of sizes from 8mm to 50mm, they are easy to fit and do not require the removal of fitted connectors to complete the installation.
