Otam has unveiled concept images of its latest power boat, the OTAM 85 GTS. Following on from the success of the OTAM 80 HT, this newer, longer version has gull-wings inspired by supercars and depending on the propulsion package selected, can reach speeds of up to 45 knots.
Designed in conjunction with Umberto Tagliavini’s Marine Design as well as Niccolò Pasquini and Alessio Riccobaldi from R+P Architecture. Owners are offered several configurations for the bow, some of the options being an alfresco lounge and dining table or a spacious sunbathing area.
The shipyard describes the gullwing hardtop as a ‘structure based on a central spine’ which remain lowered while cruising to give a sense of protection. When at anchor, the gullwings lift up for a closer connection with the sea.
The stepped transom allows easy access to the water and amplifies the contact with the environment. At the same time, high gunwales ensure guests have excellent privacy.
Owners have the choice of two different propulsion options to couple with Arneson transmissions, the first being twin 2,600 HP MTU 16V engines for a top speed of 45 knots and a 35 knot cruising speed. Alternatively, twin 1,925 HP CAT C32 engines will create a maximum of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots.
