The International Boat Show of Barcelona is starting to prepare for its 2013 edition. One of the first steps is the renewal of the collaboration agreement between Fira de Barcelona, organiser of the event, and the Asociación Nacional de Empresas Náuticas (Anen). Renewed until 2018, the agreement ratifies the model of the event introduced at the 2012 show, making Port Vell its sole venue and holding it in September.
For the 2013 show, the chosen dates are September 24th to 29th inclusive, coinciding with the Mercè festival, in honour of the patron saint of Barcelona. The agreement was made official on Tuesday, February 19th, with a function in which the Director of the Barcelona Boat Show, Jordi Freixas, and the CEO of Anen, Alejandro Landaluce, participated.
With this renewal of the Agreement, Anen maintains the role of highest representative and voice of the national nautical industry before the Barcelona Boat Show, as well as its function as advisor in terms of promotion and development of the sector within the show. In 2013, the show will be held from September 24th to 29th, after a decision that ties in with the interests of exhibitors and the suitability of this slot in the international trade fair calendar. Furthermore, Tuesday the 24th is the Mercè, major Barcelona festival, whereby the event will also benefit from the city’s festive atmosphere.
This year, the Barcelona Boat Show, founder member of the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO) and leading pleasure boating event in Spain, aims to deploy a strategic promotional plan geared towards to attracting foreign buyers, as well as placing special attention on social networks.
In this sense, far beyond working on the development of the best business platform for national and international pleasure boating in Spain, the Boat Show hopes to become an event that, throughout the year, is a bridge linking the desires and needs of users with the most competitive range of exhibits from companies in the sector.
