The International SeaKeepers Society will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year at the Founders 2018 event, taking place at a private residence in Fort Lauderdale on the 1st of November.
The gathering over dinner and drinks will celebrate two decades of work in research and education towards the goal of conserving the world’s oceanic biodiversity and health, and the event will be attended by the most powerful and influential members of the yachting community.
This anniversary edition will highlight the key stakeholders in the SeaKeepers Society history and draw attention to this year’s programming from the DISCOVERY Yacht Fleet. The two latest projects were completed by DISCOVERY yacht SHREDDER, which undertook recon dives in the Fort Lauderdale to find healthy coral colonies within 1,000 metres of the Port Everglades channel. More recently, D/Y SHREDDER cruised to Tiger Nay in the Grand Bahamas with Shark Research & Conservation (University of Miami) to collect hydrophone receivers placed at specific coordinates one year prior.
