The International SeaKeepers Society celebrated its 25th anniversary by hosting the BAL DE LA MER on the 25th of October 2023 – a gala evening at the Four Season Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Guests of honour included 2015 SeaKeeper of the Year, Fabien Cousteau, the 2019 recipient Amos Nachoum and yachting celebrity Captain Sandy Yawn, who took to the stage to highlight their association with the SeaKeeper’s mission.

The evening began with a cocktail hour featuring a silent auction, a virtual reality experience exploring SeaKeepers expeditions and a special mural about marine life which will be used for educational outreach. After dinner, an awards ceremony, hosted onstage by Channel 10 News Anchor Louis Aguirre and Chris Fischer, recognised the work of the yacht and ocean research communities who have contributed to the mission of SeaKeepers. They were presented a gift crafted by Lauren Shapiro, the 2023 SeaKeepers Artist of the Year.
