Rob Humphreys of Humphrey Yacht Designs’ latest project, the Tempus Class, is a commission from the owner of Arkin Pruva Yachts. The Tempus yacht was inspired by a J class hull however evolved to become a cruising and charter friendly yacht.
While the final design has remained true to the original classic style of yacht, while developing the design Humphrey’s came the realisation that a pure J Class is almost too compromised by its history to make it an ideal cruising yacht in today’s demanding superyacht world. So the Tempus class was born-spiritually close to its forebears but developed in a number of ways to make it more applicable to a modern lifestyle. Therefore the Tempus will be a ‘modern classic’ that will look like the old J-Class, but function like a modern superyacht.
CharterWorld will bring you further updates on the design and development of Humphrey Yacht Designs’ project, the Tempus Class as they become available.
