Luxury sailing yacht Pumula (Project Bugamena) has been honoured with the prestigious ISS Design Award in the ‘Best Sail 24-40m’ category. Measuring 37 meters in length, superyacht Pumula is a majestic Classic Cutter, launched by the respected Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman in 2012. She bears beautiful exterior design, with plenty of traditional features and nostalgic references, created by Dykstra & Partners. Her lovely interiors have been designed by Rhoades Young.
Luxury yacht Pumula offers elegant and comfortable accommodation to up to 8 guests. In addition to the Owners accommodation, there are two twin guest cabins as well as one double flex cabin forward for guests or a crew. The vessel’s crew sleep in two crew cabins, including one double cabin for the Captain and his wife as well as one additional twin crew cabin.
Interior designers Rhoades Young have succeeded in creating an environment below decks that is evocative of an earlier era yet offers a fresh, light and stimulating interpretation rather than a formal homage. A theme of bleached oak joinery, finished to emphasise the texture of the grain and the figuring of the wood, contrasts with darker oak flooring and white-painted panelling and deck-heads to create an intimate, almost contemporary styling.
