The all-new Marina del Gargano is preparing for its opening day. Due to open on July 18, 2013, this fabulous superyacht marina is positioned in the popular summer yacht charter destination – Italy, in the Gulf of Manfredonia.
Over the 95 percent of the set up work in the Marina is now completed: what is currently being wrapped up are the activations of the docks with fingers, that will allow the boats a safe entrance along with autonomous and stable mooring, and the covering of the public promenade that will connect the Marina to the seafront, while the planning and activation of the green area – aimed to improve the existing landscape and the surrounding environment – move full steam ahead.
Located in the Gulf of Manfredonia, within a few minutes walking distance from the city’s historic centre, the new Marina, with its 270,000 square meter extension, offers 700 boat berths, equipped parks and gardens, children’s playing areas, parking lots, restaurants and many commercial activities.
The Marina’s floor, reaching a depth of over 21 mts feet, will allow the mooring capable of boats and super yacht up to 186 feet in length.
Starting the very first months from its opening, the Port proposes to the Clients an innovative image and totally new initiatives for the Clients, such as free berthing in 2013 granted to anyone reserving the berth for 2014.
Marina del Gargano, along with representing a major reference Port for the nautical sector, is to aims to become as well a cultural, tourist and economic meeting point for the territory. Therefore, starting immediately a few days after the opening, its activities calendar proposes, two events: The King Manfredi Award on the 3rd of August and the Gargano’s Regatta “Trofeo Marina del Gargano” in September.
“I wish to thank all the political and institutional representatives who believed in this public work, so important for the contro and the territory, and helped making it a reality,” stated Gianni Rotice, President of Gespo, the company that planned and built the Port. “We are now very closed to the coveted goal all of the established targets aimed to: the opening of this structure,” added Rotice. “We persist, as what is left now is the handling of the last matters needed to start this great adventure that I hope will lend wings to the territory’s economy.”
Thanks to the partnership with MDL Marinas, the largest European society in the field of management of tourist harbours, boasting 40 years of experience, the Port will be able to furnish an international service, offering to its guests the advantages and benefits of the network’s facilities, all across Europe.
