Karen Lynn Interiors have been shortlisted for the IY&A award in the ‘Concept up to 40 Metres’ category, as announced by LUXE et al. The project for the interior refit of 32,31m Broward yacht, originally launched in 1990, is due for completion in 2016.
The original layout of the yacht included four cabins, which led to the first important structural change. The plans for the refit include transforming two guest cabins into a large master stateroom and his and hers master head.
A variety of designs schemes are being changed, including lighting, electrical, appliances, plumbing, flooring and all finishes, such as woodwork, cabinetry, overheads, loose and fixed furniture, window treatments, stone and marble, glass and mirrors. The galley and the crew mess are also being restructured, together with the sun deck and exterior profile of the yacht.
The refit design was based on the Owner’s wishes for a clean, functional and minimal design. The customer also owns a 71-metre superyacht and very much enjoys taking part in the design process.
