Vitters Shipyard is thrilled to announce that they will finish construction of the renowned J-Class sloop SVEA, developed in close cooperation with Claasen Shipyards and Hoek Design. The prestigious Dutch builder will start with the fit out of the graceful 43,60m J-S1 sailing yacht SVEA and systems shortly , whilst keeping a close eye on the J-Class rules and managing the very delicate weight balance.
Superyacht SVEA is being constructed in aluminium with an integrated traditional long keel. The hull construction is based on longitudinals on web frames, with high tensile frames and Alustar hull plating. Based on the original drawings by Thore Holm from 1937, SVEA will feature a 53,75m carbon fibre main mast. The original deck arrangement will be however changed to accommodate the equipment used in modern J-Class racing.
The interior of luxury yacht SVEA will be designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder Designers & Naval Architects. It will boast traditional styling in line with the overall character of the vessel.
