With specifications finalized, Jarrett Bay Boatworks is thrilled to announce that it has started to work on the construction of their newest and largest custom sportfish – motor yacht Hull 62. Set for delivery in Spring 2017, superyacht Hull 62 will span 90 feet. She will represent the next evolution in offshore battlewagon performance as well as comfort, designed to tackle the remote fisheries of the world in maximum style.
Working with a customer armed with a knowledge of boats, high tech engineering, and a passion to competitively fish anywhere, the mandate was simple: to use state of the art materials, design, and electronics to create the ultimate sportfish boat. In putting together the team, Jarrett Bay has included firms from Michigan, Rhode Island, Florida, Washington and of course North Carolina. Looking to make use of the latest innovations in building techniques to maximize strength, speed and overall quality, the Jarrett Bay 90 yacht Hull 62 will feature substantial use of titanium and carbon fiber composites, including a carbon fiber bridge, cabin, decks and stringer system. To ensure maximum performance and optimize the signature Jarrett Bay ride, extensive virtual tank testing, actual in-water tank testing, a detailed weight study (both initial and during the build), as well as composite testing are notable aspects of this build’s design process. Thanks to substantial weight reduction and increased structural strength, the end product will boast reduced loads, making the boat easier to handle and fuel efficient, all while yielding increased range and greater shear strength.
After buying and building boats of varying construction and sizes, the Jarrett Bay 90’ super yacht Hull 62’s owner entrusted salesman John D Riggs with helping him reach this pinnacle of sportfish ownership. “It’s always great to play a role in delivering boating dreams, but this delivery and build process is one I’m especially proud to be a part of,” Riggs commented. “The friendship I have forged along the way will make it all the more exciting when we have that first blue at the back of the boat. I can’t wait to see if that’s in North Carolina, Panama, or the Vanuatu Islands!”
Asked to keep the material and build details close to the vest until construction progresses, Jarrett Bay can share the 90’ luxury yacht Hull 62’s overall plan to provide the owners, guests & crew with the utmost in sportfish comfort in its six staterooms and five heads. Both the master & crew quarters will be full beam, with an office in the master and a centrally located laundry room. State of the art electronics are still being specified but will include Seakeeper’s latest stabilizer, high end centrally located A/V equipment, as well as redundant commercial grade electronics. Carrying 4,500 gallons of fuel, the Jarrett Bay 90 will have the range and speed to travel anywhere fast. Be sure to stay tuned as the construction progresses and the record books rewritten.
