JFA Shipyard launched a 43m expedition motor yacht designed by Vripack on Saturday 19th March 2011. Built under hull number 22C, the all-aluminium expedition superyacht measures 43m (141ft) and will undergo sea trials before being delivered to her owner by June 2011.
The yacht known as number 22C is the third motor yacht project JFA has undertaken with the Dutch design team Vripack after explorer yacht Axantha and yacht Bystande. The construction of this new all-aluminium expedition yacht (hull number 22C) started in June 2008 and is a larger version of 37m motor yacht Zeepaard (ex Axantha) built by JFA Shipyard in 2003. The proven and successful design is suited for long range cruising and is built for remote expeditions.
The volumous interior of JFA 43m motor yacht boasts a large and comfortable saloon and dining room on the main deck. The yacht is able to accommodate up to 11 guests in 5 cabins located on the lower deck including a master suite and four double guests’ cabins with ensuite facilities. The crew quarters are also located on this level. The wheelhouse the captain’s cabin and the library are located on the upper deck. The total interior area of the yacht measures around 340m2. There is space for two large 5.60 metre tenders on the foredeck.
The JFA hull 22C yacht is powered by twin 750hp Cummins QSK-19M diesel engines with a cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles at 11 knots. She was built to Bureau Veritas class and in compliance with the MCA LY2.
