Damen shipyard has announced that the keel laying ceremony took place for the expedition yacht SEAXPLORER 77 on the 27th of July, when the Owner welded the traditional coin onto the keel.
The SEAXPLORER 77 is a customised version of another Damen explorer yacht, the SEAXPLORER 75, and the additional room is used for a ski centre while also incorporating the usual series features of a certified helideck, hangar and storage for water toys including a submersible.
Product Director Mark Vermeulen commented on the layout:
“The SeaXplorer 77 is the larger of two projects we are currently constructing from our SeaXplorer range [and it] shares the range’s core attributes: compliance with the IMO Polar Code, the long periods of autonomy at sea, and the crossover of superyacht luxury with professional capability. But the design incorporates many specific client requirements such as his passion for heliskiing.”
The accommodation provides for up to 12 guests over six staterooms and a crew of 25 including pilots, and expedition staff for the efficient running of all technical and luxury facilities.
Once the hull-building phase is completed, the SEAXPLORER 77 will be moved from the Galati shipyard along the Banks of the Danube and head to the Vlissingen East yard in the Netherlands for completion and a delivery date in the last Quarter of 2020.
