First edition of Kuwait Yacht Show was discussed in a pre-event press conference, attended by sponsors, main participants as well as partners. Zeina Mokaddam, Managing Director of PH7 EVENTS, spoke about the beginning of the preparations for the event that will take place at the Marina Crescent from 27-31 January, 2013 under the sponsorship of Burgan Bank and Wataniya Telecom.

As for the idea of having a Yacht Show in Kuwait, Zeina Mokaddam pointed to the fact that although Kuwait has the longest and richest maritime heritage, for almost 5 years now, Kuwait has been without a premier marine event of its own. “2013 will see the dawn of a new era for Kuwait with the first edition of the Kuwait Yacht Show to be held at Marina Crescent. Organised by PH7 EVENTS, the Kuwait Yacht Show and its partners seek to raise the profile of the nation by presenting a marine show befitting of Kuwait’s maritime status,” she emphasized. “Major marine businesses have identified the vital importance of investing together”, she added. “And over a large on-land and in-water exhibition area, they will showcase their product lines to the important Kuwaiti market”.
Main exhibitors that have already confirmed their participation include leading figures in the Kuwait marine industry. These include: Thunayan Al-Ghanim from Al-Ghanim Marine, dealers of Bombardier Recreational Products; Abdulla Al-Salem from Sultan Al-Salem & Sons, dealers of Sunseeker, Yamaha, and other marine brands; Ahmad Al-Amiri from Seas & Deserts, dealers of Azimut, Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, and other marine brands; Adel Al-Summait from Al-Boom Marine, dealers of Gulf Craft and many other marine brands and Adnan Al-Attar from Marco Marine, dealers of Al-Dhaen Crafts.
During the conference, Zeina Mokaddam thanked the Kuwait Yacht Show (KYS) media partners headed by FORTUNE magazine and Al-Jarida newspaper and announced her plans to donate the 2013 ticket sale proceeds of to the Children Diabetes cause.
As for future plans, Zeina Mokaddam revealed the commitment and intent of PH7 EVENTS to turn the Kuwait Yacht Show into a yearly event, one that will attract exhibitors from the local, regional and international scenes.
Concluding the conference, Zeina Mokaddam pointed out that the opportunity to sponsor the upcoming Kuwait Yacht Show is still open for companies that want to take part in an event that will be highly advertised and covered by the local and regional media, an event benefitting of Kuwait’s status and heritage.
