The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) has proudly launched its Marina of the Year Awards for 2015, with partners GJW Insurance. The second edition of the Awards are open to all Gold Anchor accredited luxury yacht marinas, both in the UK as well as overseas.
TYHA, a group association within the British Marine Federation (BMF), has made significant changes to the way the competition is run to make it easier for boat owners and berth holders to vote and for marinas to be included in the awards. This is intended to build on the success of last year’s competition and takes into account feedback from those taking part.
The biggest change is giving marinas automatic entry into the competition; there’s no requirement for marina operators to register this year, and there’s no entry fee.
The competition is now aimed directly at boat owners and berth holders, asking them to vote for their favourite Gold Anchor marina – it doesn’t have to be their home marina either, they can choose from any marina they have visited this year.
At the launch, Jon White, General Manager of The Yacht Harbour Association said: “The Marina of the Year Awards, with GJW Insurance, is a great way of highlighting excellence in facilities and customer service. Gold Anchor marinas are already recognised as offering the very highest standards of facilities and services, and it is hoped that these Awards will encourage marinas to go the extra mile with their berth holdersThe message TYHA is promoting to boat owners and berth holders is a simple one, vote on-line for your favourite Marina of the Year; so why not pass this message on to your customers and encourage them to vote for you.”
There are four categories of winners with a runner-up in each: UK coastal marinas, UK inland marinas, International marinas and superyacht marinas.
Voting closes on December 20th 2014 and the Awards will be presented during the London Boat Show at ExCeL London on Thursday 15th January 2015.
Winners of the prestigious TYHA Awards will receive a laser etched glass trophy and the chance to promote their achievement.
