February 29, 2014, saw Princess Owners, Robert and Rose, start a 7000 mile, seven-month cruise around the coast of Australia aboard their 72 motor yacht R&R. Having started from their home port of Sandringham Yacht Club in Melbourne, the passage will take them north past Sydney and the Gold Coast and on to the Whitsunday Islands, where Robert and Rose have traditionally wintered their boats.
From there, the voyage enters it’s most adventurous phase as R&R and her crew negotiate Cape Tribulation and round this vast continent’s most northerly point at Cape York, heading west before dropping South again for the final destination at Broome.
Robert and Rose have been loyal Princess owners since 2003, starting with a Princess 45 and moving up through the range to their current 72 luxury yacht R&R. Having visited the Kimberley region of North Western Australia twice before by road; and then taking a trip back on a chartered vessel with friends the couple were so inspired by the unspoilt natural beauty of the region that they knew they wanted to go back. Along with their desire to cruise North of Whitsundays (about 1500nm North of Melbourne) Robert and Rose couldn’t wait to explore this vast coast aboard their own boat.
