The LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 yacht is a 65.50-meter (215-foot) full-displacement, twin-screw motor yacht with round-bilge steel hull and aluminium superstructure. The first one launched and available for charter is called motor yacht ‘Imagine’ and she is here. The superyacht exterior is designed by Tim Heywood. The luxury yacht interior of the Amels 212 is by Andrew Winch. It consists of three accommodations decks and a large sundeck.
The general arrangement allows great variety in the use of the private yacht, providing luxury owner and guest accommodations, dining, large outdoor areas, generous stowage for water-sports and diving equipment, whirlpool bath, swimming pool, gymnasium at sundeck and much more. You can charter a range of Amels yachts here.
LIMITED EDITIONS yachts were created by AMELS — a world leader in custom building—primarily for clients who seek an exceptional yacht delivered sooner than usual. When you decide to own an exclusive LIMITED EDITIONS yacht, you confidently entrust AMELS with the design, engineering, and primary interior blueprint. By leaving these time-consuming preliminaries to AMELS, you accelerate the build process. Your remaining mission is just to complete the details to satisfy your personal preferences. Then, depending on when you enter the project, your LIMITED EDITIONS yacht can be delivered as much as two years earlier than a fully customized one. Yet it will have the same value, performance, and individuality every Amels client has come to expect.
LIMITED EDITIONS 212 Yacht
The stunning 65.50-meter LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 was inspired by the unparalleled global success of the ground-breaking 52- meter AMELS 171. Like the AMELS 171, the LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 has a bold contemporary exterior, shaped for eye-catching beauty by the renowned British designer Tim Heywood. Heywood, together with AMELS’ own team of design specialists, conceived the AMELS 212 as a “big 65-meter,” with qualities every superyacht owner desires: high volume, exceptional indoor accommodations and social spaces, and plentiful choices for luxuriant, gracious outdoor living. She floats majestically on a hull shaped by well-proven AMELS naval architecture, and is endowed with long range, tranquillity, stability-at-anchor, and sea kindliness.
AMELS 212
Atop the powerfully formed hull of the LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212, Tim Heywood has drawn a supremely attractive contemporary form. The overall result is a handsome, exciting sculpture that combines grace, modernity, and function, and is enriched with fresh details—from the smart antenna mast and purposeful bridge-wing pods, to the supple sheer line and broad viewing windows.
The LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 was formulated to assure owners every opportunity for a life of effortless individualism—at sea or in harbour—within striking architectural surroundings. Heywood describes the design as being “strong, athletic, feminine, and sleek,” qualities that appeal universally to the hearts and spirits of cultured women and men alike.
EXTERIOR
LIFESTYLE
The AMELS 212 external arrangement offers a variety of alfresco dining and relaxing opportunities, at every deck level, to meet modern society’s desire for personal health, well-being, and enjoyment. The glorious Sun Deck—open to the breeze, or closed by arched panels of pivoting glass louvers—allows quiet sunbed reclining or laid-back fresh-air dining. The broader Bridge Deck below has a similarly large dining alcove adjoining the dramatic Sky Lounge, cooled and protected by the Sun Deck overhang shadow.
OUTDOORS
Forward on the lofty Sun Deck, the AMELS 212 provides guests with another prime social area, where water, Sun, and privacy can be taken in measured amounts. The Spa Pool platform and its mini-beach are just steps up from the jet-stream pool and wet-feet bar, which offer further choices for more intense workouts or totally agreeable escape. A deck below, in front of the wheelhouse, a cosy nook awaits guests who prefer to have their breakfast in quiet outdoor seclusion.
SUN DECK
The AMELS 212 has an extended swim platform serving as an ideal outdoor Beach Club. Expansive teak decking brings the Club inside, where a bar, entertainment system, day toilet and shower complete the amenities. Forward of the Club is the vast water-sports store that easily stows four jet skis, diving gear, two 8.25-meter tenders, and much more. Side-opening hatches and sturdy beam cranes simplify tender deployment. Alfresco life aboard a LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 assures fulfilment suitable to today’s refreshing lifestyle.
Ownership of an AMELS 212 comes with an automatic passport to unlimited public adventure—you can see and be seen, anywhere in the world you choose. But it also offers enjoyment in alternate private worlds of your own creation.
The AMELS 212 interior plan is intended for majestic roominess and desirable intimacy, for owners and guests to enjoy life afloat in total harmony and contentment. Forward on the Main Deck, the full-width master suite—with de luxe bath, dressing room, and office— provides owners with restful solitude within a commanding site. The galley is amidships, linked directly to the aft saloon and main dining room for convenient service.
Among the AMELS 212’s most exceptional features are two elegant VIP suites set comfortably amidships on the Bridge Deck, each with a balcon parisien that opens the space to fresh sea air and vivid sea views. On the Lower Deck, four grand suites accommodate guests. Two are planned as full doubles; two can be alternately configured as twin-berthed suites or, by removal of a central bulkhead, a third full-beam VIP suite. Forward, unusually large quarters accommodate 15 to 18 crew in 10 cabins (a unique four-person staff cabin is on the Tank Deck). A central elevator serves guests from the Lower to the Sun Deck, in parallel with a spiral staircase serving all decks. External stairs aft provide guests access from the swim platform to the Sun Deck. A dedicated stairway allows crew to move independently between Tank and Bridge Deck.
The AMELS 212 interior was created by Andrew Winch, to be readily adapted to suit a variety of tastes and desires. As a virtuoso team, Winch and Tim Heywood share a philosophy of originality and attention to detail that makes an ideal yacht, developed during their youthful years working with Jon Bannenberg. Winch accepted Amels’ challenge of giving the interior a classic character perfectly complementing the gallant exterior. Indeed, in designing for appeal to knowledgeable clients, Winch’s philosophy dovetails ideally with Heywood’s method. As Winch expresses it: “I design first what I think is beautiful, so that clients will respond to it. I want them to embrace what I have drawn, to feel excited by it, and to recognize instantly that they can live happily in the saloon or in the master suite just as CENTRAL SPIRAL STAIRWAY I have created it.”
ARCHITECTURE
The AMELS 212 interior generally—the Main-Deck Saloon/Dining area and Master and VIP Suites in particular—are fashioned specifically to enhance the indoor-outdoor experience as much as possible. On the Main Deck, uncommon full-height windows, with narrow non-obstructing mullions, and a radiant dining-room enclosure of crystal-clear glass, bring natural light and infinite views to guests taking their pleasures. To this, Winch has added overhead arches that pleasingly unify the spaces, adding a welcome sense of security and order.
Andrew Winch used the AMELS 212 as a high-spirited opportunity for originality, optimism, and flexibility. “I wrote my own brief,” he says, “for something individual that cannot be found anywhere else. It is strong yet moderate, to appeal to many tastes.” That is absolutely clear in the Sky Lounge, where all the elements of Winch’s ingenuity come together in one magnificent space—surrounded by glass, filled with good spirits, bathed in light. The bar and intimate suite of sofas will meet the social needs of owners and guests completely.
The AMELS 212 interior architecture is a key element in the LIMITED EDITIONS guiding philosophy: to shorten delivery time while creating an ideal personal yacht. While that architecture is for the most part pre-planned in the luxury areas, the key is still “flexibility.” The style of each space, such as the Master Suite, is subtly adjustable to meet each client’s personal flair, to encourage each client to convert the pre-existing architecture into a unique private floating domain, through the choice of colour, mood, and material.
At the mid-ships pinnacle of the AMELS 212 Sun Deck is a full-width Sky Gym, easily reached by elevator or spiral stairs. Designed by AMELS engineers as an essential element in providing guests with vigorous health-enhancing options, the Sky Gym’s selected exercise equipment is supplemented by an adjoining steam room and day head. The Sky Gym’s broad glass doors open conveniently to the Sun Deck’s aft lounge and dining area, for a relaxed change of pace after brisk exercise.
The ultimate styling of each AMELS 212 is dependent upon the client’s choice of basic joinery wood. The design, as in the VIP Suite, readily adapts to various tones, grains, and finishes that can range from dark and formal to light and casual; from high-gloss markassa to pale oak or golden maple; from pristine satin varnish to distressed façades. Once a wood is chosen, no further drawing time is incurred. Still, the design leaves wide leeway for clients to customize their home by choosing carpets, lighting, artworks, and other personal elements. Amels simply does the rest.
PERFORMANCE
The LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 is a formidable, go-anywhere yacht built to Lloyd’s Register Class and in compliance with the MCA Large Commercial Yacht Code (LY2) under Cayman Islands Registry. She is built “green,” with genset soot filters, and is technically qualified for awarding of a Lloyd’s EP certificate—all to help protect the
planet for tomorrow.
The AMELS 212 motor yacht is designed for the most demanding owners, and will perform responsively for the most qualified crews. Her top speed is a notable 17 knots; with 155,000 litters of fuel her range is 5,000 nautical miles. A low-noise Voith electric bow thruster assures muted close-quarter manoeuvring. AMELS is a member of the Damen Shipyards Group, thus has available advanced infrastructure, technology, financing, and marketing strength. But the power of
imagination to create a splendid private yacht does not belong to AMELS alone. The concept of LIMITED EDITIONS invites clients to liberate their own imaginations, to create what Le Corbusier called “a machine for living in”—one that is unconditionally worthy of their innermost desires today and their distant horizons tomorrow.
