Every September, shipyards, brokers, equipment and service providers, high profile private and professional visitors from all around the world make the Monaco Yacht Show a true barometer for the yachting industry and its related activities.
Can the show’s momentum generated by 100 breathtaking yachts gathered in Port Hercules, 500 exhibitors in luxurious pavilions, and 27,000 attendees actually influence the economic situation of a whole sector of activity? These four memorable days at the end of the summer create a unique platform for oneâ€onâ€one conversations, networking with existing and potential clients, and productive B2B meetings, which all contribute to generating interesting leads and valuable discussions that can convert into short or medium term business. It is then a most welcome stimulus to the yachting industry, helping it maintain an optimistic outlook.
With the help of a dedicated team of professionals, a loyal customer base, the majestic setting that the Principality of Monaco represents and the ongoing support of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Monaco Yacht Show continues to be the market leader, year after year, fulfilling the expectations of its clients.
The 20th edition of the Monaco Yacht Show sold out months ago. This is indeed great news, allowing all participants to confidently prepare themselves, whether for the launch of a new yacht, the unveiling of new products and services, the organization of social events, the consistent media plans around their presence in Monaco, or making the final arrangements for their trip to Monte Carlo.
After 18 years of loyal service to this event, I have come to the decision that it is now time for me to step aside. After giving this a great deal of thought, and discussing it at length with my family, I am determined to dedicate more time to my various nonâ€profit initiatives, mainly related to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
I thank you all for this unique experience. It has been a real privilege and honour to build this event into the world premier yacht show that it has become. It was also a great responsibility, as it is associated with very high expectations. Needless to say, I was never alone in this endeavour. The gifted team of people that make it all happen and share the values; research of excellence, consistent commitment, availability, corporate social responsibility, creativity, etc. remains in place: Gaëlle Tallarida who takes over as Managing Director, assisted by Audrey Baylac, Eva Esteban, Aurelia Ferraris, Federica Ficarra, Eva Munoz, Oriane Odasso, Johan Pizzardini and all our loyal suppliers.
You know them, they know you.
Informa owns the Monaco Yacht Show together with 8,000 other events and employs 8,000 people worldwide. As a flagship event of this group, the MYS team works closely with Peter Rigby, CEO of Informa.
Again, let me simply THANK YOU and wish you ALL THE BEST!

Some of you may know of my dedication to help research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy through the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies. The exciting and promising times of therapeutic trials have arrived. The cure is not ready yet, but my energy, my attention, my focus are more than ever required to source funds, gather and finance Scientists, Researchers,
Clinicians, Chemists, etc. Through the support of HSH Prince Albert II, the Monaco Yacht Show and the organization of Only Watch we have been able to raise 2 million Euros every two years. We will continue to do so in the future together with Informa and the MYS Team who will donate 50% of the entrance fees and coâ€organize the 4th Only Watch auction which will be held onwhich will be held on 22nd September 2011.
