The B.YOND 37M is the first model in Italian shipyard Benetti’s new explorer yacht series, and the premiere of the luxury expedition yacht GOGA has made its mark in the yachting world through its exceptional versatility, comfort and engineering for tomorrow’s world.
The concept for the series came from critically acclaimed designer Stefano Righini, taking the essential, classic style imbued into the original Benetti yachts by Paolo Vitelli, Founder and President of Azimut|Benetti Group. With four different modes for the hybrid engine, a massive cruising range and amenities associated with larger luxury yachts packed on board, GOGA caters to today’s Owner, charter groups and guests.
The interiors
Benetti architect Mauro Izzo has taken the bright open spaces and created the opportunity for even more customisation for GOGA’s Owner: A neutral palette and white surroundings are accented by hints of blue in the fabrics and accessories. In line with the focus on sustainability, various kinds of wood are used in harmonious surroundings, along with bronze bases and different marbles. Benetti selected the leading contemporary design brand Giorgetti for the interior and exterior furnishings, further enhancing the harmonious flow from one social area to the next.
In regard to the layout, the lower deck contains the crew accommodation of four cabins, service areas including a walk-in wine cellar and cold room, the Captain’s suite which can alternatively be used as a guest cabin, and a beach club with wellness centre. The beach club has a sauna and steam room plus a Techno gym, and additional room for storing water toys.
The main deck hosts the majority of the guest cabins, placing four generous en-suites around a panoramic lounge nicknamed ‘The Playroom’. Behind the cabins is a tender garage that can hold two jet skis, a rescue boat and a 6.5m/21ft tender. The upper deck boasts a spectacular skylounge surrounded forward and aft by large outdoor areas that will prove just as tempting as the interior, offering 360° views.
Above, the bridge deck hosts the helm station forward and dedicates the rest of the area to the Owner’s suite complete with a study area, dressing room, en-suite bathroom and a private aft outdoor terrace.
While guests are savouring the comforts and amenities that E/Y GOGA has to offer, the E-Mode Hybrid system from Siemens Energy will work unnoticed underfoot to optimise onboard energy consumption for four different usage profiles, resulting in unparalleled reductions in CO2 and NOx emissions for a yacht of this category. M/Y GOGA can go fully electric for zero emissions while cruising in environmentally sensitive regions.
There are MAN V12 2,100 kW engines granting 1,450 HP each for everyday operations, and in Eco transfer mode at 9 knots, she is capable of an exhaustive range of 8,200 nautical miles.
The exteriors
Timeless in appearance, E/Y GOGA sports a muscular hull design by Pierluigi Ausonio’s firm P.L.A.N.A. – a white steel hull and matching aluminium superstructure, broken up by large horizontal bands of dark glass that let the sunlight pour in. The stainless steel railings are painted white to match this appearance, while teak handrails add a bespoke feature reminiscent of a past cruising age.
The outdoor social areas have been just as well considered as the interiors: The lower deck swim platform provides a functional space for accessing the tenders and water toys for exploring the area, and joins into the beach club for a waterside lounge complete with relaxing wellness facilities.
The group can recover from an outing on the upper deck aft, dining and lounging in the sunshine or shade or relaxing in the foredeck Jacuzzi before drying off on the sun pads.
The Owner can claim the bridge deck aft as a private terrace attached to the Owner’s suite – perfect for starting and ending the day in serenity, surrounded by the wonders of nature.
Lastly, the sundeck grants the best views on board while the group socialises over drinks or a meal beneath the shade of the hardtop. An outdoor pantry is installed for convenience, and sunbeds let the group rest and digest after a sumptuous multi-course meal.
The accommodation
The versatility of the layout allows for a couple of rooms on board to be converted into additional guest cabins. As standard, up to 10 guests have accommodated over 5 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite on the bridge deck and 4 further guest cabins on the main deck, around The Playroom.
However, the Captain has a choice of cabins, taking the one available on the bridge deck adjacent to the helm station, or on the lower deck. The other cabin then becomes a ‘spare’ for additional guests or staff. If desired, the Owner can replace the gym with a seventh guest cabin.
The flexibility of the layout allows for the Master suite to be swapped with The Playroom, placing all guest accommodations together if desired.
Explorer yacht GOGA offers versatility and an arrangement that brings aboard amenities and technology more often found on 50m/164ft luxury yachts. As such, she has all the advantages of both size classes from visionary yacht designers and a shipyard looking forward to a better, more sustainable future.
