Iconic Feadship HIGHLANDER (ex The Highlander) was built in 1986 for Malcolm Forbes. Originally painted in green the superyacht became highly recognisable among the others. The green hull represented the colour of money, and cruises on the superyachts were describe by Forbes as “The Capitalist Tour”. The yacht had hosted the biggest Hollywood and Politics figures for over 25 years, and then was sold to Roberto de Guardiola, the American financier.
In 2014 HIGHLANDER underwent a comprehensive refit under a thorough management of Derecktor Shipyards, with Bannenberg & Rowell responsible for her stunning exterior and interior design. While interior design is different now, HIGHLANDER’S heritage is still the main feature. “On a yacht like The Highlander you can establish the kind of rapport you don’t achieve talking across a desk,” Forbes once said.
She will start off in Belize in January, famous for its Belize Barrie Reef, hundreds of low-lying islands and rich marine life.
In February and March HIGHLANDER will visit one of the greatest destinations for visit this winter – Cuba. Indulge yourself in mesmerising views of the coastline powder sand beaches, on-water activities, and tasting mouth-watering Cuban cuisine, while meeting the hospitable locals.
HIGHLANDER’S winter season will be concluded in Galapagos Islands, an archipelago of volcanic islands in Ecuador. The islands are best know for its crystal blue waters, having a diversity of plants and animals, with many of them found nowhere else in the world.
