Wider Yachts have announced the launch of motor catamaran ACALI, the first 28.04 m (91’9″) hybrid WiderCat 92, from their facility in Venice, Italy. Her naval architecture was created in-house at Wider, while the elegant exterior is from Luca Dini Design and Architecture.
Marcello Maggi, the head of Wider’s parent company W-Fin Sarl, had this to say about the model, “The WiderCat 92 is a collective masterpiece, a synthesis of vision, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technology.”
The beautiful yacht breaks down technological boundaries and the barriers between outdoor and indoor spaces, reflecting a concept where functionality, aesthetics and innovation coexist. The generous exterior offers an aft and foredeck on the upper deck plus an aft cockpit and owner’s suite private foredeck lounge. Her tender garage boasts a transom hatch that effortlessly transforms into an expansive swim platform, while fold-down bulwarks from the VIP suites allow for more space and concealed storage compartments for water toys.
The main salon and sky lounge create premium sociable spaces and the layout is very guest focussed. She features a four-stateroom configuration, consisting of a spacious owner’s suite on the main deck, two generous VIP suites and a twin guest stateroom located on the lower deck.
She uses an advanced hybrid propulsion system with twin electric motors delivering 500kW to each thruster plus two variable speed generators to run the yacht’s systems. 150 square meters of solar panels ensures energy efficiency at anchor with excess energy stored in the on-board batteries. This hybrid system minimises engine strain, extending maintenance intervals compared to traditional yachts, as well as reduces fuel consumption, noise and vibrations emitted.
“Each designer, engineer, and craftsman has poured their passion into this endeavor. As we celebrate this achievement, I have full confidence that, just as in our previous milestones, the WiderCat 92 will set a new standard in the industry,” added Marcello Maggi.
Her outfitting continues as she prepares for sea trials and commissioning.
