More details on luxury yacht AL WAAB II from Alia Yachts have been revealed at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019, and it has been announced that the 55m/180ft vessel has undergone her keel-laying ceremony.
Dutch studio Vripack was integral in her creation, contributing to her naval architecture, and interior and exterior design. The Owner was determined to use luxury yacht AL WAAB II as much as possible for family living, essentially turning her into an apartment. This resulted in many of the spaces on board being designed around home life while never losing sight of the lifestyle reasons why so many take to the water in the first place.
In comparison to other sub-500 GT vessels, M/Y AL WAAB II has a comfort rating 40% greater and uses 35% less fuel due to the main dimensions of her optimised hull, resulting in a stable, seaworthy vessel able to travel farther than most of her competitors.
Comfort, space, luxury, privacy and stability at sea were all key factors for the indoor and outdoor living areas, such as the spacious lower deck swim platform where guests can sunbathe beside the water or use the area as an alfresco extension to the beach club lounge.
The main deck and upper deck living areas have been created for comfort outdoors in the warm Middle Eastern climate and the deep overhangs protect chaise-loungers and coffee tables from all-day exposure to the sun. The ample space lets the whole family gather for conversation after a day of work or play.
The sundeck sports a wet bar for some well-earned refreshments, and a private 4m/13ft swimming pool is placed on the foredeck for exercise on board or cooling off on the hottest days.
The interiors are modern and fresh in their appearance and connect their inhabitants with nature through the use of natural materials and neutral colours. Glass bulwarks and floor-to-ceiling windows provide excellent views of the surroundings, with a drop-down bulwark near the formal dining area creating a balcony for after-dinner drinks and viewing.
“This is a hugely exciting project as it will be rated below the 500GT threshold, which is quite a challenge for a 55-metre yacht,” Alia Yachts President Gökhan Çelik commented.
The accommodation provides for up to 12 guests over 6 en-suite staterooms, including a two-tier Master suite on the upper deck forward with a dressing room and bathroom situated on the main deck below.
The 24-month build is expected for delivery in 2021.
