Italian shipyard Benetti has announced that the luxury yacht JOY, known as BO102 during construction, was successfully launched from the facilities at Livorno on the 31st of March.

The Owner is a first-time Benetti buyer who supervised the design and production to add custom features. M/Y JOY is a fibreglass vessel built with a vertical bow and full-height glazing in the wheelhouse. The exterior styling comes from British design studio RWD while the interiors are by New York-based Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture. Automotive-inspired elements give her a dynamic appearance well suited to the Mediterranean, and the 90m2/969ft2 beach club is sure to see plenty of use in the summer sunshine. This innovative space has been personalised by the Owner so that it can be used as an open-air cinema as well as a lounge.
The interiors have the ambience of a refined loft area, and the boundaries between interior and exterior are separated only by the extensive glazing. The main salon and dining area are combined into one, and on both sides, three large glass panels fold away to let the fresh air rush through.
Luxury Yacht JOY ready for launch
The accommodation sleeps up to 10 guests over 5 large en-suite cabins, plus four cabins for the Captain and crew of 6. Of note is the main deck master suite, which has a private terrace to starboard and forward his-and-hers en-suite bathrooms accessed via a corridor and dressing area.
The upper deck wheelhouse has 180-degree floor-to-ceiling glazing to be admired not only by the Captain but up to six guests seated in comfort. The sky lounge is another example of an Owner-customised space on board and provides a fully-equipped gym as well as a lounge area with a sofa and TV.
Superyacht JOY has a top speed of 18 knots and is built to the highest technical and construction standards in yachting today.
