This year’s 25th edition of Monaco Yacht Show saw Pershing unveil their all-new flagship: luxury yacht PERSHING 140. The largest, most innovative and most charming Pershing ever, the striking PERSHING 140, the first to be built in light alloy, is expected to make her premiere in 2018.
“Last July we showed the Owners that took part in Pershing’s 30th anniversary celebrations in Palma de Majorca the first renderings of the new yacht, and their reaction was exactly like mine is every time I look at the pictures of this new amazing flagship: a shudder of excitement. What we call ‘thrill’ within the Company that only Pershing is able to give,” said Ferretti Group’s CEO Alberto Galassi. “The reaction of the media during the press conference we held in Monaco was the same. This is why I can’t wait for this incredible vessel to be built: I want to see it growing month after month. I am sure the Pershing 140 will be the greatest ‘thrill’ ever in Pershing’s history.”
Measuring 42,53m in length over all, the well sized PERSHING 140 is the result of the cooperation between Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee, its Engineering Department, as well as architect Fulvio De Simoni. She will be the first Pershing yacht to be built at the Group’s Ancona shipyard, which specializes in the building of steel and aluminium superyachts measuring over 40m in length.
“This flagship is highly innovative, as typical of the brand’s DNA,” commented architect Fulvio De Simoni, the founder of Italprojects, who designed all Pershing models since 1985. “On the other hand, we decided to make the least possible invasive changes, preserving those iconic design elements that make every single Pershing yacht truly unmistakable at first sight. Such a consistent, harmonious evolution, always in line with an unfailingly original approach to yachting, endows the Pershing 140 with an unprecedented style, which is however coherent with a history I am proud to be part of.”
Boasting extremely sleek lines that reflect the brand’s sporty character, the all-new luxury yacht PERSHING 140 features an aggressive outer profile, characterized by an aluminium hull and a superstructure with few composite material inserts on the main deck. Taking inspiration from military models, the vessel’s innovative hull will guarantee excellent performance, while providing maximum comfort on board. For this reason, a full-beam Owner’s suite was designed on the main deck – a solution that required raising the forward part of the hull, further increasing the vessel’s powerful, majestic look.
PERSHING 140 owners will be able to design the interiors of their superyacht with the assistance of architects and designers of Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department, in order to reflect their style and needs. The owners will have the opportunity to supplement or alter the various layout solutions offered by the Shipyard.
The main deck of PERSHING 140 hosts an amazingly spacious living area followed by a dining area. There are also the captain’s quarters and the Owner’s suite. The latter is fitted with forward-facing double bed, desk to the left and lounge to the right, and provides fantastic panoramic views and supreme privacy. In the forward most section of the cabin are a large walk-in wardrobe to the right and two large separate heads to the left.
The lower deck provides four lovely guest suites, including three VIP double suites and one twin cabin. Two of the VIP cabins are positioned along the sides, towards the stern, while the third one can be found at the extreme bow. The twin cabin with private head, instead, is situated on the left side of the yacht. Besides the large wardrobes and private heads with separate showers, the two aft VIP suites are also fitted with a desk area overlooking the sea through the large hull glazing. The forward most VIP cabin is of a standard comparable to that of a master cabin, with desk area to port, comfortable lounge to starboard, a spacious walk-in wardrobe and a large private head. The lower deck also hosts very comfortable crew quarters.
Externally, the aft cockpit has been totally revisited to provide the Owner with an amazing and exceptional experience of comfort and relaxation. There is a generous outdoor area over the sea, which rises from water level to the sundeck, and an incredibly huge water-level beach club, with fully-accessible floor space overlooking the sea. The upper deck of PERSHING 140 represents a large panoramic terrace, and the vessel also boasts large and innovatively-designed external forward spaces. Guests can also enjoy another private area aboard this striking vessel, protected by the waves. This is fitted with the large forward sun pad, beyond which is a large lounge concealed by a platform that can be opened up when the yacht is anchored or moored up.
In terms of performance, there are three possible engine configurations. The first two options include two MTU 4000 M93L engines, either 12V (3460 HP) or 16V (4613 HP). Hydro-jet propulsion will ensure thrilling performance in terms of both cruising and maximum speed – the latter will reach 24 knots when 12V MTU engines are installed and 33 knots if the more powerful configuration is chosen (preliminary data). A third option is the installation of four MTU M94 2600 HP engines, which ensure a maximum speed of 38 knots (preliminary datum).
Moreover, the top-of-the-range electronic and home automation systems will be also installed aboard this magnificent 140-footer, in addition to cutting-edge stabilization systems, allowing guests to enjoy the utmost comfort even when at anchor.
