42m/137ft luxury yacht SOFIA from Moonen Yachts is returning to the Groot-Ammers facilities in the Netherlands for a refit and repaint of her hull exterior, part of an exterior concept by René van der Velden Yacht Design.
Following a summer season of Mediterranean cruising, M/Y SOFIA will have her exterior equipment removed and stainless steel items dismantled before painters begin with an examination of her anti-fouling system. The shipyard will also conduct a thorough inspection of her systems and carry out any maintenance work needed to uphold her excellent performance.
Delivered to her Owners in 2013, SOFIA underwent a previous refit in 2015 and she is expected to be listed for sale once works have been completed.
Superyacht SOFIA is expected to return to the water by the end of March 2019. Moonen Yachts is also currently constructing a 36m/118ft sistership to luxury yacht BRIGADOON: The steel and aluminium are currently being cut with keel laying scheduled for the end of October and delivery for Spring 2020.
