This week, luxury yacht WATERLILY emerged from the shed into the glorious Turkish sunshine at the Mazu shipyard in Yalova. She is the first hull from their displacement range and at 28.45m (93’4″) is the compact 92DS model which will be followed by the larger 112DS and the 132DS.
The build represented a collaboration between Mazu, Alfa Marine Design who were responsible for the naval architecture and Red Yacht Design who penned the interior and exterior design.
She is characterised by her sturdy explorer appearance with a raised forward pilothouse, vertical bow and two-tone hull design. She features a beam of 6.7-metres and a shallow draft 1.9-metres and is constructed from carbon composite to reduce weight and keep the centre of gravity as low as possible.
She can accommodate up to eight guests across a main deck owner’s suite located forward on the main deck, plus a full beam VIP and two single staterooms on the lower deck. She is decorated in a neutral colour palette, complemented by light wood parquet flooring and occasional splashes of turquoise blue.
On deck, a large swim platform offers space to stow a tender or Jet Ski while underway and can be extended with fold-down bulwarks when at anchor. Leading from the platform are sliding glass transom doors into a beach club area, complete with a bar. Guest will also enjoy an alfresco dining area for up to eight guests on the aft deck, a backlit exterior staircase connecting the main deck, upper deck and beach club, and an asymmetric lounge with an L-shaped sofa to port and armchairs to starboard.
Power comes from triple IPS1050 Volvo engines which deliver a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots. She has already completed her first sea trials and will make her debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival and the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show.
