Dennis Conner’s North Cove is going through a very busy time of year as great yachts start their fall migration south. Two beautiful vessels, the 144-foot charter yacht Lady Sheila and the 132-foot motor yacht Petrus, have been enjoying the sights and sounds as well as shopping and restaurants of New York City.
Dennis Conner’s North Cove has been the scene of lots of activity this summer. In addition to the larger mega yachts, many smaller vessels operate from the marina or come to visit. There is the Manhattan Sailing School which is one ofthe largest adult sailing schools in the country. They also offer junior programs in the summer and now spring and fall. There is Manhattan Sailing Club with active racing programs, including a Corporate Sailing League. There are also two great sailing charter boats, Shearwater and Ventura.
And this week, there was another first. As part of Motor Expo at Brookfield Place, a floating Mini was spotted navigating around the marina!
September 11 is an emotional day for us here at Dennis Conner’s North Cove because we are only one black away from where the Trade Centers stood. This is why Dennis Conner’s North Cove was proud to provide dockage for a group of veterans, including some who are wheelchair-bound, who completed a 1,600 mile fundraising trip on jet skis from Key West, FL to Lower Manhattan.
Congratulations to these veterans for completing the 1,600 mile trip! And welcome to the Big Apple!
