Following an extensive refit at HUISFIT in Amsterdam, the magnificent and iconic 1928 classic motor yacht FAIR LADY is ready for the next season and many others to come. Although regularly updated and meticulously maintained, she was due for several important upgrades, which were executed by Royal Huisman‘s refit facility following a well-planned two-phase program.

In 2021, when the new owner decided to purchase the 37-meter (121′) FAIR LADY, he fell in love with her classic lines and timeless beauty. Although he was looking forward to spending time aboard, he also wanted to ensure that the yacht was safe and performing well at sea. Huisfit made sure this was possible, by creating a two-phase programme which meant that the yacht underwent upgrades over two consecutive winters during the off-season, allowing the owner to enjoy his vessel when not in the shed.

Fair Lady’s first phase of refit was completed in just three months, right on schedule and included hull repairs, hull painting, varnish repairs and maintenance of the main engines, genesis and stabilisers. In addition, the cooling water system was replaced, and the tanks were cleaned and repaired. Additional works have been done on her interior, such as a new main saloon, galley and part with upgraded equipment installations. Guest suites were also refurbished, with the inclusion of new carpet laying.

In September 2022, the yacht returned for phase two, which incorporated stripping of the engine room with the overhaul of the twin Gardener main engines. New genesis were installed together with new stabilisers. Additional works included repairs to her hull plating, which required additional hull painting. Perhaps the most important aspect of the refit was her entirely new bridge.
