The majestic sailing yacht Nariida, formerly known as Wallygator, is currently undergoing an extensive refit at Baltic Yachts in Finland. Designed by Luca Brenta, the 32m (105′) superyacht Nariida represents the first large fast cruiser/racing boat by Wally Yachts, originally launched in 1994. She is also the first non-Baltic yacht to undergo a refit at Baltic Yachts.
Luxury yacht Nariida is used extensively between north-west Europe and the Mediterranean every season, and has also competed actively on the racing scene. Cosmetic wear and tear is therefore unavoidable, and renewal of surfaces is an important part of the project. Particularly challenging, yet well within Baltic Yachts’ abilities, are extensive replacements of teak veneering in the yacht’s interior. Baltic Yachts will also make noticeable alterations to parts of her layout, including new cabinetry, storage and work areas.
Over the years, Baltic Yachts has gained a lot of skills and experience in perfecting the complex refit skill. The list of items to be addressed and improved on Nariida yacht is long, and is likely to grow longer, during the project period. At the same time Baltic Yachts adhere to a strict schedule, enabling them to hand over a modernised, sparkling and well documented “new” yacht to the owner, in good time for the next season.
