Having started working at Dubois Naval Architects as a graduate in 1981, Malcolm McKeon is set to leave the company for pastures new, following a long term collaboration with this prestigious UK-based design studio.
He leaves with the Dubois greatest thanks for the past and all best wishes and support for the future.
Malcolm met Ed Dubois sailing in Hong Kong and then, after taking the yacht design course in Southampton, he joined the company. He steadily moved into a senior position within the company and has been a constant figure over many years.
Dubois Naval Architects looks forward to keeping a close friendship with Malcolm as he moves into the next stages of his highly successful career.
DUBOIS NAVAL ARCHITECTS
Established in 1976, when Ed Dubois designed his first racing yacht, the company flourished with wins in many of the major offshore racing events; Admiral’s Cup, Fastnet Race, Sardinia Cup, Sydney to Hobart Race etc.
Dubois’ first luxury vessel, superyacht Philkade (ex Aquel II, Vainqueur), was launched in the mid-eighties and the company has been integral to the world of superyacht design for many years. With 60 Dubois-designed yachts on the water, and several more in the final stages of design and build, the team at Dubois Naval Architects – Ed, Jerry Turner, Peter Bolke, Michael Benakis and Duncan Fawkes – continue to explore and push the boundaries of superyacht design with their award-winning expertise.
In the coming months Dubois Naval Architects looks forward to the delivery of the 50m flybridge sailing yacht OHANA (Project G50) and the launch of the 43m superyacht ENCORE, and the studio is already planning the 2013 Dubois Cup, a biennal regatta for the Dubois-designed superyachts.
