Stolk Marimecs and Van Geest Design are thrilled to introduce their all-new 62-metre YSV62 Yacht Support Vessel, developed in partnership with shipyard NMC. The 62m YSV62 Yacht Support Vessel has been designed for worldwide support of superyachts, including both sail and motor-yachts. With its generous main deck area of 300+ square metres, it boasts enough space for storage of tenders & toys, which take up too much space, when stored on the main yacht.
The vessel is styled to stand out as a modern workboat and not be mistaken for a ‘second’ yacht. Specific attention has been paid to easy accessibility for guests and a comfortable stay.
It is a comfortable and sturdy ship with systems to commercial standards which is efficient to build and maintain. The vessel has a very efficient hull, designed for low resistance, excellent seaworthiness and comfort at sea. The designed interior layout is functional, liveable and spacious. The flexibility of the layout enables incorporating the owner’s specific requirements. Selecting yacht like materials can give the vessel a superior luxury appearance and yacht feeling.
Design
The Yacht Support Vessel has been developed for supporting of yachts between 85-160 metres. The vessel is styled to stand out as a modern workboat and not be mistaken for a ‘second’ yacht.
Specific attention has been paid to easy accessibility and a comfortable stay on board. Optionally the vessel can have an ice reinforced hull to be able to operate in Arctic areas.
The equipment of the vessel will comply with the standards of commercial shipping as well as the standards for interior outfitting for crew and guest accommodation. The vessel allows for restoring and bunkering in commercial harbours.
Layout
The designed interior layout is functional, liveable and spacious. The flexibility of the layout enables incorporating the owner’s specific requirements.
The spaces under main-deck can be used for storage but can also be dedicated to other needs, for example: a diving center (with a moonpool, deco-tank and diving workshop), fitness/spa area, accommodation for additional crew. The layout of the lower decks can be customised to the owner’s requirements without affecting the basic layout of the vessel. There are possibilities for application of alternative materials for example: commercial decking to teak decking, stainless steel railings, to give the vessel an extensive yacht feeling.
Design Philosophy
The philosophy behind the 62m Yacht Support Vessel is to develop a vessel which is a supplement to the yacht. Various activities for which space is insufficient, leading to unnecessary compromises in the layout of the yacht, can be foreseen on the Support Vessel. Also the YSV will function as landing area for helicopters when -for instance when guests will leave and arrive, so the comfort can be preserved on board of the yacht. Guests and crew are not bothered by the noise, wind and fumes of the helicopters, and this frees the yacht of the extensive regulations. Optionally the Yacht Support Vessel can include a helicopter garage, preserving usage for touch and go operations while the ships helicopter is stored.
Due to the extensive capacity of her fuel and freshwater tanks, the YSV is able to replenish the fuel- and water supplies of the Yacht. Complementary storage for food and drinks are available in the cool- and freeze-areas of the YSV, as well as cooled garbage storage.
Green Ship
The philosophy of developing a “Green Ship” is based on minimising the environmental “footprint” as well as extending range and reducing running costs. A lot of attention has been paid to waste control issues.
The yacht has a very efficient hull, designed for low resistance, excellent seaworthiness and comfort at sea. Depending on the use of the vessel the propulsion systems can be selected from a conventional, hybrid or diesel electric option.
The vessel is an independent, comfortable and sturdy ship with systems to commercial standards, efficient to build and maintain, resulting in modest running costs.
