For the second year running, Marina di Loano, a fabulous Liguria yacht charter destination, positioned in Italy, will attend the Monaco Yacht Show from September 24 to 27, with a stand (QS4) in Darse Sud. Marina di Loano will be once again the only Ligurian tourist port participating in the event. During the Show, Marina di Loano will be taking the opportunity to present to the international sailing market the services it has activated only this year; the highlight of which are the new Superyacht Area, inaugurated on April 16, 2014, and the helipad.
The new dock dedicated to Superyachts can accommodate up to seven Superyachts measuring 55 to 77 meters. Marina di Loano has thus increased its capacity for superyachts to 32 berths. More than 800 berths continue to be available for boats ranging from 6 to 25 metres. The Superyacht Area is composed of 3 floating finger pontoons built by Bellingham Marine, an American company and global leader in building marinas specialising in the construction of floating docks. The finger pontoons, up to 77 metres long and 2.80 metres wide, and the walkway, 122 metres long and 3.5 metres wide, are anchored by 24 steel poles, 14 metres high and with a diameter of 810 mm, driven into the harbour bed up to half their length.
All areas of operation and mooring have a five-metre (17ft) draft and every berth is equipped with IPS Service System columns that include drinking water and electrical power hook-up with free energy up to 400 amperes. Wi-Fi Internet, video surveillance and a fire alarm system are available in the entire area.
Completing the services within the Superyacht Area is the occasional helipad, permitting the landing and take-off of private helicopters as well as helicopter services. Indeed, Heli Air Monaco has activated helicopter transfer services to/from Loano – Monaco – Genoa and to Milan, as well as to other locations thus meeting the needs of private flights.
The Monaco Yacht Show will also provide the occasion to inform the International market about the measure, recently approved by the Italian Government as part of the ‘Unblock Italy’ Decree, to reduce VAT on temporary moorings to 10%.
The Monaco Yacht Show, now in its 25th year, is the most important International boat show for vessels between 18 and 150 metres, and thanks to its new mooring plan it can now host over 115 boats in the water.
