The Boating Industry Association (BIA) of Victoria has sent out the call for nominations for this year’s BIA Victorian Marine Industry Awards to recognise Victoria’s leading marine manufacturers and suppliers.
Award categories follow last year’s successful format, with the Industry Achiever being selected from the eight category winners for the foremost of these prestigious awards.
The eight award categories are: Apprentice/Trainee of the Year Award; Safety Initiative by an Organization; Marine Manufacturer of Vessels; Marine Manufacturer of Marine Related Product; International Exporter Award (Product or Services); Retailer of the Year Award; Environment Award; Business Innovation Award & Overall Industry Achiever Award.
Strong competition is expected from BIA members, who are invited to submit their entries by Friday 11 June 2010 for judging.
Judges this year are BIA President David Heyes, IC Frith & Associates State Manager Victoria, Paul Benjamin, and Marine Safety Victoria Director Di Bates.
The awards will be presented on Friday 2 July at the BIA Victorian Marine Industry Awards Breakfast, sponsored by IC Frith & Associates, at the River Room at Crown during the 50th Annual BIA Melbourne Boat Show.
Special guests at the breakfast will include the Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Innovation, Gavin Jennings, and senior representatives of Marine Safety Victoria, Parks Victoria and Australia’s leading marine industry organisations.
