Fijian people are very friendly and their islands offer wealth of cultural experiences. One of the traditional ceremonies includes the kava ceremony – a traditional drink created from the fusion of dried roots of the yaqona plant. Another interesting ceremony is fire-walking. Crafts include Fijian pottery, tapa cloths or woven Fijian mats.
You also shouldn’t leave Fiji without having experienced traditional Fijian dishes: Kokoda, Fiji’s most popular specialty, is portions of fresh fish marinated in lime juice and served in a half coconut in lolo – a word that sounds as sweet as it taste- made from the sweet cream of the coconut, a staple in Fijian cooking.
