Maxwell presented for the first time his new RC12 Automatic Rope/Chain Series of Windlasses at the prominent HISWA Amsterdam and Auckland International Boat Shows in September this year.
These evolutionary new windlasses had a very positive response from the boat builders and public and became a welcome reward for more than two years of Maxwell´s effort to bring these amazing new products to the market.
Following on the success of Maxwell’s smaller range of RC windlasses, which have been introduced to appreciative consumers over the past few years, the RC12 Series completes Maxwell’s full range of stylish and innovative rope/chain windlasses that are suitable for boats from as small as 5 metres to as large as 22 metres.
The RC12 Series incorporates Maxwell’s latest stylish innovation in automatic rope/chain technology. Retaining the classic open design styling more appropriate on larger vessels, the RC12-10 and the RC12-12 represent the next generation of rope/chain windlass evolution in every respect.
The all new RC12 is packed with patented inventive features combined with Maxwell’s traditionally classic aesthetics, but reflecting the modern “form follows function” of the highly successful RC6, RC8 and RC10 series windlasses.
With a maximum pull of 1590 kg (3500 pounds) and with an anchor retrieval rate of 15 m/minute 50 ft/min), the RC12-12 is one of the fastest and gruntiest windlasses in its class. Capable of handling up to 13mm short link chain spliced to 20 mm nylon rope, via Maxwell’s revolutionary and patented “Wave Design™” chainwheel, and offering a three year warranty, the all new RC12 Series is destined to become one of Maxwell’s best selling windlasses.
