In new build news, MCP Yachts from Brazil has announced the signing of a contract to build a Hemisphere 140 motor yacht. The Hemisphere 140 at 42.5m will be the largest semi-displacement all-aluminium superyacht to be built in South America so far.
The Hemisphere 140 motor yacht has her naval architecture created by Vripack and her exterior and interior design are by the in-house team at MCP. The tri-deck luxury yacht will accommodate 10 guests in a master and four double cabins. Her twin 18255hp Caterpillar C-32 engines will give her a top speed of 19 knots. She is to be built to Lloyds class and will be MCA compliant.
The aluminium plates for the first Hemisphere 140 are scheduled to be plasma cut in June/July. The Hemisphere 140 yacht is then scheduled to be launched at the end of 2012.
