The well known Italian builder, Maxi Dolphin, is proud to present its MD51 Power yacht as an official tender of this year´s World Superyacht Awards, held from May 4 to 6 in Istanbul. The MD51 yacht tender will be at disposal of the VIP´s guests as well as of the top international press.

The MD51 Power yacht tender capitalizes on Maxi Dolphin´s expertise with sailing boats. The hull design is based on the same hydrodynamic principles as the hulls of sailing boats, where the shapes are optimised to achieve the utmost efficiency. Composite materials feature predominantly in the construction, the same used in America´s Cup hulls and Formula One cars. The boat is built entirely using Sprint technology, which makes it extremely robust yet, at mere 10,000 kg, exceptionally lightweight.
This light weight allows the use of lower power engines than normally used on yachts of the same size. At the same speed, this achieves lower consumption and hence a reduction in CO2 emissions. The MD51 Power yacht has two 435HP Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines using a revolutionary new system of propulsion, providing superior performance, a higher top speed and better acceleration.
The MD51 Power project is still more ambitious as it focuses on an important aspect of production, namely customization. The Erbusco-based boatyard has earned international renown due to the advanced building techniques used, which allow elaborate structural changes to be made, giving the owner, with support from Maxi Dolphin´s engineers, a truly custom-made yacht.
