Mengi-Yay has announced the launch of 40m/131ft sailing yacht from its facilities in Turkey. Designed by Ginton with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and first commissioned in 2011, S/Y EXTREME is built to RINA standards as well as adhering to Maltese commercial classification.

By opening the transom door the aft stern section can be lowered to become a sizeable swim platform, and guests can rest or dine outside on the seating while enjoying a drink from the bar.

Inside the Guido de Groot-styled rooms provide a large main deck salon and dining area combined with a partially-exposed wheelhouse. The accommodation provides six guest cabins plus accommodation for seven crew.

Among her technical specifications is a 52m/171ft aluminium mast, a mainsail that can be furled into the boom and when winds are light, a pair of Caterpillar C18 engines will produce a top speed of 14 knots. Pending sea trials, sailing yacht EXTREME is expected to be delivered to her owner within the next two months.
