Next month will see the New Zealand Pavilion return to METS. Kiwi companies will be turning the focus back on innovation as well as quality. When METS kicks off in Amsterdam’s RAI on November 18, the New Zealand Pavilion will be packed full of companies ready to position their products against the world’s best.
It’s been a great year for Sealegs. The world-leader in amphibious technology was thrust into the spotlight when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were whisked across Auck-land Harbour and on to dry land without getting their feet wet before an adoring crowd. Now, for the first time at METS, Sealegs will exhibit a working demonstration of Sealegs’ amphibious technology at stand 02.222.
Auckland-based Sealegs will unveil and present its amphibious technology kit that will enable European boat manufacturers to create their own amphibious craft and extend their product range. Sealegs has over 900 amphibious craft in more than 35 countries, and there has been a strong uptake already among reputable Middle Eastern and Australasian boatbuilders who are making use of Sealegs amphibious technology kits on their own craft. The Sealegs team also looks forward to meeting with a wider audience, including superyacht skippers, crew and designers, to discuss the merits of amphibious tenders for the comfort of owners and guests.
Due to demand, Fastmount are now producing its popular Maxi Metal clips in both five-kg pull out, and ten-kg pull out versions as stock items. The MC-05 and MC-10 Maxi Metal clips are designed to meet the needs of demanding applications that require fire protection and heavy load bearing.
Ideally suited to aluminium plate substrate, marble veneer or aluminium honeycomb pan-els; panels can easily be recovered and refitted in any sequence. The Fastmount team will be on stand 2.226 in the New Zealand Pavilion and are looking forward to discussing how their Maxi Metal Clips can help to improve performance.

The company, which has built a reputation on providing glass shaped to fit challenging designs on award-winning yachts, has a full range of glass products suitable for internal and external applications and includes DuraShield Marine; engineered as an answer to delamination in windscreens and windows.
Glasshape is bringing its turnkey approach for superyachts to the benefit of European yards after its successful application in US and New Zealand yards. The approach sees the processes of consultation, measurement, design, quote, manufacturing and installation bundled together to provide an efficient solution for new build or refit projects. Complementary to DuraShield, is DuraShield Marine E Zone which is a heat-reducing glass designed especially for pilothouses, providing captains with clear windows and optimised thermal performance without the need for dual glazing. Tru-Design returns for its tenth year at METS, to show its new, non-return valve range and discuss its extended ball valve offering. Showing why it’s the the world leader in approved composite skin fittings, ball valves and associated fittings, Tru-Design composite products eliminate the worry associated with corrosion and electrolysis prevalent with traditional bronze through-hull fittings. The products have the seal of approval by Bureau Veritas, IMCI and ABYC and will last the life time of the vessel.
Pacific Aerials returns to METS with new products, product refinements, and a new cata-logue for 2015. Pacific Aerials’ Pro Series marine antenna range was the first to feature an easy to remove and remount fibreglass antenna without the need to pull or cut the coaxial cable – and though there are now imitations on the market, Pacific Aerials’ constant programme of advancement has seen the Pro Series range maintain its position at the top of the market. Pacific Aerials also offer a custom design and build service for antennas and accessory solutions at short notice and low volumes.
C-Tech have taken carbon fibre technology and made it universal in the sailing world. With a firm focus on performance, the Auckland-based company design and manufacture premium carbon fibre products across a broad range of applications. Their high performance sail battens are much lauded and sought-after, yet C-Tech also put just as much effort into small recreational customers’ requests
Working closely with high performance race teams including America’s Cup and round the world challengers, products are rigorously tested in the most demanding environments. New product developments on show at METS include improvements to the FlexiFurl range of furling composite battens so they can be used in superyacht headsails. These will be on display along with a full range of sail battens and their accessories and C-Tech’s patented inflatable spinnaker retrieval snuffer system. These products will be of interest to superyacht builders, captains and owners looking to improve performance, aesthetics and reliability on their boats. The recent addition of a 15-metre long pressure and temperature controlled autoclave to the C-Tech plant, has allowed much larger projects to be undertaken.
Recent projects have included supplying mainsail and jib battens for all Volvo Ocean Race teams, prepreg carbon winch hooks, battens for the new Tripp 85m ketch 3069 and a large aerospace project.
