New York-based design studio Persak & Wurmfeld and the US manufacturer Derecktor Shipyards have revealed a model of the new 44m sailing yacht concept at the 2013 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show (FLIBS). The 44m Persak & Wurmfeld superyacht concept is part of a new schooner series, including another 36-metre sailing yacht.
Representing the next generation of modern sailing yachts, the 44m Persak & Wurmfeld yacht concept is a “bucket-buster” racing boat, with all the amenities of a luxury cruiser. The schooner is exciting, fast, responsive and comfortable, with all the performance of the leading boats in the “Bucket” fleet.
Supremely comfortable on a cruise, yet quick and aggressive on the race course, the 44m Persak & Wurmfeld superyacht concept features luxurious and comfortable accommodation for up to 10 guests. There is a separate owner’s area, four guest staterooms, a full dining area, as well as a raised salon, offering spectacular views.
To be built to the highest construction standards and benefit from generations of yacht building experience of the Derecktor family, the 44m Persak & Wurmfeld luxury yacht concept will boast a fast, safe and seaworthy hull, with a highly versatile lifting keel, while the schooner rig will allow for a flexible sail plan that can be optimized to a wide range of wind speeds.
