ER Yacht Design has just completed a modern classic redesign of the sixties-built superyacht CAPELLA C for a London-based client. Boasting original classical hull lines mixed up with a new modernised superstructure, the impressive 60-metre vessel is a beautiful functional explorer, capable of long distance cruising to remote parts of the world.
The aim was to modernise the classic vessel and enhance the existing beautiful lines so that the new expedition yacht looks more graceful and recognisable in any marina or anchorage. The yacht is being designed for an experienced owner who appreciates the beauty of the classic ship’s form and who is planning to undertake extensive long distance cruising.
The studio has created a new thoroughbred expedition yacht, with timeless styling. The vessel retains the structural backbone of the original hull and fore section of the superstructure, with the addition of a new helideck and extension of the existing accommodation, boasting generous proportions and including a full-beam owner’s stateroom, en suite guest cabins, two salons and plenty of entertainment areas.
Spanning over three impressive decks, the outside space hosts an amazing fly-bridge deck serving as an observation area, whilst the main and the upper deck spaces are large enough to accommodate two 8 metre tenders, full size helipad and a transom swim platform, which still leaves a lot of space for entertaining, outdoor dining, as well as sunbathing.
The yacht, equipped with fast robust tenders, helipad and up to date communications systems, will be a very comfortable long-distance cruising vessel, but also a base from which to manage all day-to-day business.
