The semi-finished 45-metre superyacht VIUDES 45, displacing 450 tons, has successfully been unloaded at Mondo Marine Repair & Refit division at Savona yard today. The yacht was loaded onto the cargo ship “Storm” of around 100m in length. The vessel then left Barcelona and the M/Y VIUDES 45 was shipped to Mondo Marine’s Savona yard. The yacht VIUDES 45 will be completed by MONDO MARINE’S Repair & Refit division.
Although the reverberations of the international slump can still be felt throughout the sector, the Italian yard Mondo Marine has a healthy workload, and is currently working on five new craft. In order to fulfil intense client demand for new builds and total refits, Mondo Marine decided to extend its premises and equipment. The Italian yard’s production site now covers a waterfront area of 35,500 square metres/382,119 square feet. Available facilities include a 100-metre /330-foot jetty for maxiyacht moorings, an 820-ton/1,810,000 lb travel lift, one of the largest in the Med, plus a 300-ton/663,000 lb cradle.
The following superyachts are currently undergoing a refit at Mondo Marine’s Savona yard:
1 – Superyacht KINTA (ex Vinidrea) 53M Proteksan Turquoise
Work underway involves hull painting, new foremast, total replacement of interior leather ceilings, normal maintenance (hull, piping, dismantling and cleaning sea inlet valves, zinc hull anode replacement, cleaning shafts and props).
2 – S/Y BILLY BUDD 35M
Work underway involves mechanical operations on drive shaft and variable pitch, restoring hydraulic lines and installations.
3 – M/Y ELISEA NOVA 42M MARINE CONCEPT
Work underway involves hull painting, total reconstruction of grey, black and drinking water installations, new air conditioning system, normal maintenance.
4 – Motor yacht SERAFIMA 40M Mondo Marine
Work underway involves hull and superstructure painting, interior refit, normal maintenance.
5 – M/Y PIXIS 25M Benetti
Work underway involves replacing hull plate, normal maintenance.
6 – M/Y BULLY 25M
Work underway involves total bulkhead refit, new furnishings, superstructure extension, complete paint job, new teak deck, main generator replacement, new air conditioning system, new electrical unit, additional maintenance for main engines, normal maintenance.
7 – M/Y TANIT 47M Camper & Nicholson
Work underway involves installation of a new electrical system, stern modification with hydraulic door installation, new air conditioning system, normal maintenance.
8 – Yacht GITANA 53M Cantieri Navali Baglietto
Work underway involves normal maintenance.
9 – M/Y AWAY’S 50M Codecasa
Work underway involves removing shafts for maintenance, careening, a new teak fly deck, painting stern, winch, gangway, hydraulic beach deck and hydraulic steps maintenance, sanding tanks.
10 – Motor yacht LUCKYME 42M Cantieri Navali Baglietto
Work underway involves bow painting, careening, normal maintenance.
11 – M/Y FORCE INDIA 50M Mangusta Overmarine

Mondo Marine’s After Sales, Refit & Repair division has achieved worldwide succces in the superyacht repair and refit sector, backed by the yard’s know-how and impressive facilities. The basin in front of the yard’s dry land facilities and the well-equipped wharf mean that Mondo Marine can also work on floating craft. The division carries out maintenance and refit projects of every kind, structural modifications to hulls and interiors, furnishing restyling and instrument upgrades. It offers a workshop for assistance and engine repairs, along with carpentry and metalworking workshops and painting areas. The yard covers a seafront area of 35,500 square metres, with 9,500 square metres under cover. The facilities include 100 metres of jetty space for maxiyacht mooring, an 820-ton travel lift (one of the largest on the Med) and a 300-900 ton trolley. New hangars are currently under construction, and an office redevelopment project is set to begin soon.
