IPC Marine Media’s Motor Boat of the Year Awards 2011 (MBOY), sponsored by Garmin Europe Ltd, will bring together the great and the good from the motorboating world on 10 January 2011 in London at the Savoy Hotel following a £220m refurbishment that has taken nearly three years to complete.
Experts from Motor Boats Monthly and Motor Boat & Yachting magazines, along with a specially selected panel of judges, will decide the ten winners, with special mention for highly commended runners-up.
The best companies from the industry will compete for prestigious awards in ten categories, with the winners announced at a gala dinner on Monday, January 10, in front of an invitation-only audience that includes the short-listed nominees, boatbuilders, brokers and industry VIPs.
An 11th award, the Garmin Europe Ltd Outstanding Service Award, will be decided by nominations from the public. The award goes to a company that has provided extraordinary service in the marine industry.
“When we introduced the Motor Boat of The Year Awards in 2007 we chose The Savoy as our inaugural location as it reflected all the elements of the evening and the awards we were presenting — quality, glamour and unrivalled reputation,” says Simon Owen, publishing director at IPC Marine Media.
“Each subsequent year we have entertained our guests at different five-star hotels that perfectly complement our prestigious event. On hearing of the unparalleled refurbishment that The Savoy has undergone we were keen to secure the location.”
